Deck overview

This Rakdos deck centers around Ozai, the Phoenix King, converting unspent mana into permanent red mana storage. By accelerating Ozai onto the battlefield on Turn 4, his innate haste and firebending 4 ability immediately start accumulating mana. Once Ozai stores six or more unspent mana, he gains flying and indestructible. The deck leverages this resilience by casting total board and land wipes such as Jokulhaups and Obliterate, or triggering Worldslayer. These spells destroy all opposing lands, creatures, and artifacts while Ozai survives completely unharmed. Alternatively, the deck channels its banked mana pool into catastrophic burn spells like Crackle with Power and Torment of Hailfire, amplified by damage doublers and triplers like Fiery Emancipation, Twinflame Tyrant, and Bloodletter of Aclazotz. Supported by robust black tutors and resilient value engines like Black Market Connections, the deck rapidly transitions from mana generation to an unrecoverable lockout or sudden table-wide elimination.
