Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Rakdos combo-spite engine commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable. The primary strategy accelerates into Smaug's 7-mana casting cost using efficient mana rocks, rituals like Dark Ritual and Jeska's Will, and early Treasure synergies. Because Smaug is an 8/7 flyer with indestructible and haste that creates Treasure tokens whenever he is dealt noncombat damage, the deck uses efficient self-damage effects such as Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, and Pyrohemia to generate explosive bursts of 8 to 16 Treasures in a single turn. Once this treasure trove is online, the deck leverages payoffs like Crackle with Power to burn out the entire table, or drains opponents through aristocrat triggers from Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice. If Smaug is detained, the deck transitions into an independent infinite damage combo using Brash Taunter and Blazing Sunsteel.
