Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Izzet spellslinger aggro list helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The strategy leverages low-cost mana reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance and Stormcatch Mentor to cast expensive instant and sorcery spells ahead of curve using delve, discounts, and alternate casting costs. When a large spell resolves, Rootha's combat trigger creates an equally large flying Elemental creature token with haste. The deck amplifies this evasive pressure using extra combat steps from spells like Full Throttle and Fury of the Horde, mass token creation from Furygale Flocking, and team-wide combat buffs like Surge to Victory. A solid interaction suite featuring Cyclonic Rift, Cyber Conversion, and Aether Gale clears opposing blockers and answers critical threats while maintaining high card velocity through Archmage Emeritus and Dig Through Time.
