Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black discard and resource-denial strategy led by Kuroki, Thief of Talents. The primary game plan revolves around systematically emptying opponents' hands using cheap, targeted discard spells and symmetric group-discard creatures. Once hands are depleted, the deck capitalizes on asymmetric payoffs such as Waste Not, Tergrid, God of Fright, Geth's Grimoire, and Kuroki itself to generate massive card and board advantage. Opponents are trapped in topdeck mode while Chains of Mephistopheles prevents recovery through extra card draw. The deck finishes games through combat damage from stolen permanents, Zombie tokens, and large threats like The Haunt of Hightower alongside passive drain from Court of Ambition and Shrieking Affliction. While the deck excels at crippling opponent hands and board states, its reliance on incremental combat and lack of instant-speed stack interaction leaves it vulnerable to topdecked sweepers.
