Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, transforming standard aristocrat sacrifice loops into explosive board-wide power. The deck develops early mana acceleration and resilient sacrifice fodder like Reassembling Skeleton, Bloodghast, and token generators before deploying Mazirek on Turn 4. Once assembled, every sacrifice—whether from Eldrazi Spawn, Treasures, or dedicated outlets like Viscera Seer and Ashnod's Altar—places +1/+1 counters on all friendly creatures. Asymmetric edicts from Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos clear opposing blockers while double-triggering Mazirek's ability. The deck finishes games through massive aerial combat damage supported by direct life drain from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Mirkwood Bats. While vulnerable to exile sweepers and targeted commander removal, its dense redundancy and versatile removal suite provide robust mid-game control.
