Deck overview

This Dimir deck leverages Vren, the Relentless to convert opposing creature deaths into an overwhelming, scaling army of Relentless Rat tokens. Operating at the intersection of control, stax, and tribal aggro, the list runs extensive forced-sacrifice and removal spells that keep opponent battlefields empty. Because Vren exiles dying opposing creatures as a replacement effect, it completely shuts down enemy death triggers, aristocrat strategies, and reanimation lines while generating massive token value on every end step. The deck scales into the midgame with tribal anthems like Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, evasion enablers like Marrow-Gnawer, and heavy attrition pieces like Dictate of Erebos and Archfiend of Depravity. An infinite token combo with Marrow-Gnawer and Intruder Alarm provides a compact secondary win condition. While vulnerable to resolved noncreature permanents and mass sweepers, the deck delivers steady disruption and decisive combat clocks against creature-centric pods.
