Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Mardu build centered on Kaalia of the Vast, designed to cheat massive Angels and Demons into combat well ahead of their mana costs. Supported by a robust flicker and enter-the-battlefield subtheme, the deck pairs explosive beatdown threats with high-utility removal and card selection. Standout payoffs include Master of Cruelties for sudden single-target eliminations, Serra's Emissary for board-wide evasion and protection, and Rune-Scarred Demon for immediate tutoring. To ensure Kaalia connects and survives opposing interaction, the list packs efficient protection and blink spells such as Flawless Maneuver, Boros Charm, and Eerie Interlude, which also re-trigger devastating ETB effects. While the deck relies heavily on its commander to bypass the high mana costs of its heavy hitters, it maintains a potent backup win condition through a two-card infinite combat loop with Helm of the Host and Aurelia, the Warleader.
