Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Grixis midrange deck centered on Sauron, the Dark Lord. It uses rocks, Treasures, and lands to reach the six-mana commander, then turns opposing spell casts into Orc Army growth. Army combat triggers the Ring, and Sauron's discard-and-draw-four ability can refresh a depleted hand. The deck adds further Army production through Saruman, the White Hand, Dreadhorde Invasion, Warg Rider, and several amass spells. Its interaction suite is respectable for creature threats, with removal, bounce, and counterspells, but it is mana-intensive and competes with development. The ordinary engine becomes meaningful around turns 6–7, yet the deck lacks a compact finisher, infinite loop, extra-turn chain, or total lock. It therefore pressures the table through growing creatures and incremental spell damage rather than reliably ending the game on a fixed clock. Combat connection, creature survival, and access to colored mana remain its main practical constraints.
