Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul Midrange strategy led by Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods, focusing on turning face-down creature mechanics into an explosive mana-cheating engine. By utilizing manifest enablers like Scroll of Fate, disguise cards, and morph creatures, the deck places expensive game-ending threats onto the battlefield as 2/2 face-down permanents for low mana. When these face-down creatures attack into blockers or are sacrificed through outlets like Goblin Bombardment or Greater Good, Yarus triggers to resurrect them immediately and turn them face up without paying their mana costs. Cheated beaters such as Blightsteel Colossus, Worldspine Wurm, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus gain immediate haste from Yarus to deliver devastating combat swings. A rich package of low-cost protective spells shields Yarus from targeted removal, while auxiliary draw engines ensure a steady stream of gas. The deck applies overwhelming combat pressure by Turn 5 and systematically eliminates the table across subsequent combat steps.
