Deck overview

This Jeskai control deck uses Zedruu the Greathearted to turn symmetrical and harmful permanents into card advantage and life. In the early game, it deploys efficient 2-CMC mana rocks and defensive enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda to deter aggression. Once established, Zedruu donates harmless assets such as lands or symmetrical draw artifacts to build card velocity. It also passes around aggressive threats like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Slicer, Hired Muscle to force opponents to damage one another. An elite suite of low-cost counterspells and versatile spot removal keeps opposing win attempts in check. The deck closes games either by casting Approach of the Second Sun twice or by donating lethal permanents such as Transcendence and Nine Lives directly to opponents.
