Deck overview

The deck's central plan is to cast Phage the Untouchable from hand, not from the command zone, then give it evasion with Whispersilk Cloak. Command Beacon, Netherborn Altar, or Campfire can move Phage into hand, while Sol Ring, Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Jet Medallion, and black-mana doublers help pay the large deployment cost. With ordinary acceleration, the equipment can be deployed around turn 5 or 6, the Phage checkpoint becomes usable around turn 6, and the first lethal attack occurs around turn 7. Because Phage has no haste, the deck normally needs three attack steps to eliminate the table, finishing around turn 9. The rest of the list supports this plan with creature wipes, curses, graveyard removal, and card-flow engines. Maralen of the Mornsong and Opposition Agent offer disruptive potential, but they are not the primary clock. The main weaknesses are limited protection, equipment dependence, and the need to solve Phage's hand-casting requirement.
