Deck overview

This Gruul stompy deck is built around Anzrag, the Quake-Mole, leveraging its unique combat trigger to generate additional combat phases whenever it becomes blocked. Supported by a robust mana dork suite, the deck reliably deploys Anzrag ahead of curve on Turn 3. It utilizes forced-block cards like Lure, Roar of Challenge, and Invasion Plans alongside invulnerability enablers such as Dolmen Gate and Mithril Coat to clear enemy boards while continuously untapping its creatures. Damage multipliers including Xenagos, God of Revels, Unnatural Growth, and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar convert chained combats into lethal commander damage across all opponents. While the deck boasts dense, cost-effective reactive protection against spot removal and damage, its reliance on natural card draws for trample and forced-block combinations leaves it susceptible to well-timed interaction, edict effects, and creature sweepers that exile.
