Deck overview

This Jund deck is commanded by The Reaper, King No More, centering on -1/-1 counters, wither mechanics, proliferate triggers, and creature theft. The strategy uses low-cost ramp like Birds of Paradise and Bloom Tender to establish early board presence before deploying synergistic engine pieces such as Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Generous Patron. On Turn 4, the deck deploys its commander or Yawgmoth, Thran Physician to initiate counter placement and card draw. By Turn 5, high-impact pieces like Maha, Its Feathers Night or All Will Be One create an asymmetric board lock, reducing opposing creature toughness to 1 and converting counters into lethal damage. Opponents have only 1 response cycle to answer the board before wide deathtouch Snake tokens, stolen opposing threats via Necroskitter, and Obelisk Spider life drain close the game on Turn 6. Supported by efficient removal like Fire Covenant and protection like Heroic Intervention, the deck maintains steady attrition and high resilience.
