Deck overview

The deck combines Boros Equipment value with a compact extra-combat finish. Its strongest supported route is Aurelia, the Warleader equipped by Helm of the Host. The deck can find Helm of the Host through many artifact tutors, but it has limited access to the single-copy Aurelia, the Warleader. It also needs a large mana investment: six mana for Aurelia, the Warleader, four for Helm of the Host, and five to equip it. Acceleration from Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Ancient Tomb, Jeska's Will, and Seething Song makes a Turn 6–7 setup plausible. Once the first combat begins, the two cards generate unlimited hasty Aurelia tokens and extra combats, ending the game that turn. The deck has respectable protection and turn-based denial, but its setup is expensive and vulnerable to common creature, artifact, and stack interaction. Without Aurelia, the Warleader, its backup combat plan is much slower.
