Deck overview

Maha, Its Feathers Night is a mono-black attrition deck built around setting every opposing creature's toughness to 1 and then wiping boards with any -1/-1 effect. The primary plan is to establish Maha, layer a global debuff (Kaervek, M.O.D.O.K., Night of Souls' Betrayal, Curse of Death's Hold), and drain with Massacre Wurm, Meathook, and Kokusho triggers. The secondary path uses discard outlets (Aclazotz, Bottomless Pit, Liliana, Oppression) to empty hands, generating mana with Waste Not and finishing with Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate. The commander is both the linchpin and an evasive closer; Emeritus of Woe // Demonic Tutor acts as a de facto hidden commander, becoming a repeatable tutor whenever creatures die.
