Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos big mana combo and spite-damage strategy built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug provides a high-toughness, indestructible, and hasty threat that converts any noncombat damage dealt to him into an equal number of Treasure tokens. The deck accelerates through early turns using efficient rocks and red-black rituals to deploy Smaug on Turn 5. Once Smaug is in play, the deck targets him with massive damage spells such as Blasphemous Act, Cut Propulsion, Shivan Meteor, or Star of Extinction, creating 13 to 20 or more Treasures in a single burst. These Treasures are immediately converted into a game-ending win on Turn 6 by casting huge X-spells like Crackle with Power or Torment of Hailfire, or triggering lethal drain via Mirkwood Bats, Ingenious Artillerist, and Reckless Fireweaver. Backup lines feature an infinite damage loop with Brash Taunter and Blazing Sunsteel, while the deck's primary vulnerabilities stem from exile-based removal, counterspells, and artifact hate.
