Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-green cheat strategy designed around Kona, Rescue Beastie. The primary objective is to accelerate into Kona on Turn 3 and immediately tap it using zero-mana tap outlets such as Springleaf Drum, Paradise Mantle, Jaspera Sentinel, or Holdout Settlement. This circumvents summoning sickness and triggers Kona's Survival ability at the beginning of the second main phase, putting apex game-ending permanents—such as Portal to Phyrexia, Void Winnower, Blightsteel Colossus, and Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant—onto the battlefield years ahead of curve. The deck reinforces this engine with dense 1-drop mana fixing, heavy redundant cheat outlets like Natural Order and Elvish Piper, and proactive stax pieces like Collector Ouphe. Protection spells like Veil of Summer, Tamiyo's Safekeeping, and Heroic Intervention shield Kona from targeted removal, allowing the deck to transition from Turn 3 onset into a decisive lethal combat finish by Turn 5.
