Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger Burn and Group Slug strategy piloted by Kess, Dissident Mage. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, redundant pingers like Firebrand Archer, Electrostatic Field, and Coruscation Mage, then amplifying their damage with force multipliers such as Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph, Fiery Inscription, and Harmonic Prodigy. Kess, Dissident Mage provides crucial late-game fuel and resilience by allowing you to recast your most impactful card draw, removal, and burn spells directly from the graveyard once each turn. Rather than relying on infinite combos or heavy stax locks, the deck systematically lowers all opponents' life totals in tandem through repeated noncombat damage triggers. Sweepers like Earthquake, Fault Line, and Slagstorm keep opposing creature boards clear while simultaneously dealing direct damage to players, culminating in a simultaneous table elimination around Turn 7.
