Saint Thalia 📚🕳️ Sphinx's Approach by ScryBaby

Format: Commander

Commander: Geist of Saint Thalia

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 47

Deck overview

This mono-blue combo deck harnesses Geist of Saint Thalia to discount a critical mass of 33 copies of Sphinx's Approach. By reducing generic mana costs, the commander accelerates deployment of key engine pieces like Thrumming Stone and Sphinx of the Chimes. Once an engine piece is active, casting or discarding Sphinx's Approach triggers explosive card draw that empties the entire library in a single turn. The deck then pivots into Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries to close the game instantly on an empty library. Supporting mana rocks, cost reducers, and cheap counterspells provide the necessary velocity and stack defense to execute the combo reliably on Turn 5.
