Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition engine built around Liliana, Heretical Healer and a synergistic Zombie aristocrats backbone. The early game focuses on establishing cheap sacrifice outlets like Carrion Feeder and recursive fodder such as Gravecrawler to reliably transform the commander into Liliana, Defiant Necromancer by Turn 4. From there, the deck transitions into a suffocating mid-game lock using asymmetric sacrifice effects including Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos alongside continuous discard pressure from Waste Not and multiple Liliana planeswalkers. Massive mana engines powered by Crypt Ghast and Cabal Coffers enable late-game blowouts through mass reanimation spells like Rise of the Dark Realms and Zombie Apocalypse, or lethal life drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While vulnerable to mass graveyard exile and artifact strategies, the deck generates overwhelming board dominance and card advantage against creature-centric opponents.
