Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group-slug and forced-combat engine commanded by Xantcha, Sleeper Agent. The strategy revolves around donating high-power threats such as Xantcha, Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, and Slicer, Hired Muscle to opponents while making it impossible or disadvantageous for them to attack you. Symmetrical discard cards like Oppression and Bottomless Pit drain opposing hand sizes and disrupt coordinated game plans, while Waste Not and Xantcha's card-draw activation ensure the pilot stays ahead on resources. As the table's life totals rapidly fall under relentless attacks, global burn from Descent into Avernus and Bloodchief Ascension accelerates the clock toward a decisive Turn 8 finish. The list features strong engine redundancy and resilient commander recovery, though it plays at an unaccelerated pace due to a lack of cheap mana rocks and stack interaction.
