Deck overview

This Boros deck combines go-wide Cat token production with aggressive noncombat burn and combat multipliers. Led by Ajani, Nacatl Pariah, the deck quickly deploys early bodies and flips its commander into Ajani, Nacatl Avenger to generate a steady stream of tokens and targeted burn. Passive damage engines like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Warleader's Call punish opponents every time a creature enters the battlefield, turning token creation into direct life total pressure. Combat finishers such as Shared Animosity, Skyhunter Strike Force, and Akroma's Will convert wide boards into lethal swings by Turn 6 to 8. A dense suite of protective instants including Teferi's Protection, Boros Charm, and Flare of Fortitude defends key permanents against opposing sweepers. The deck lacks infinite combo loops or hard lockouts, instead relying on resilient engine redundancy, efficient creature interaction, and compounding combat-burn synergy to outpace the table.
