Driydra (Commander Ver.) by Gwim

Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a mid-range Golgari toolbox strategy helmed by Meren of Clan Nel Toth, blending Elf tribal synergies with a Spider-themed defensive shell and heavy-hitting Hydras. The primary game plan is to establish a creature-based mana engine using Elves like Priest of Titania and Elvish Archdruid to cast high-impact threats or activate Meren s recursion. The deck wins through three main avenues: overwhelming combat damage via +1/+1 counter scaling (Kalonian Hydra, Primordial Hydra), direct life drain (Shaman of the Pack, Ishkanah, Grafwidow), or the Dark Depths and Vampire Hexmage combo to create a 20/20 Marit Lage. Meren provides essential inevitability, allowing the pilot to sacrifice utility creatures for value and recur them to the battlefield for free as experience counters accumulate. While the deck features tribal elements, it functions as a "Golgari Goodstuff" pile that leverages the graveyard to outlast opponents in grindy multiplayer games.
