Deck overview

Oloro, Ageless Ascetic leads an Esper control, stax, and lifegain combo deck designed to dominate multiplayer games through resource attrition and sudden lethal finishes. By leveraging Oloro's eminence ability to gain 2 life each upkeep directly from the command zone, the deck consistently triggers lifegain payoffs without committing mana to its commander early. The early game establishes defensive tempo using cheap mana rocks, efficient card advantage engines like Black Market Connections and Esper Sentinel, and asymmetrical stax pieces such as Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Blind Obedience. These disruptive elements stall opposing fast combos and aggressive boards, buying ample time for the deck to assemble its win conditions. The primary victory route is an infinite drain loop pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity, instantly eliminating all three opponents upon any lifegain event. Backed by versatile spot removal, sweepers, and protection spells like Silence and Teferi's Protection, the deck reliably transitions from oppressive control to an immediate win.
