Deck overview

This deck is led by Codie, Ravenous Codex, designed to exploit the prepare mechanic and Magecraft triggers. The deck runs a wide suite of modal Prepare creatures whose spell halves represent iconic effects like Ancestral Recall, Demonic Tutor, Swords to Plowshares, and Lightning Bolt. When these prepared spells are cast, Codie automatically copies them, generating immense resource advantages. Mana acceleration from Storm-Kiln Artist and Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius allows the deck to chain multiple spells in a single turn. The primary win condition revolves around deploying game-ending Magecraft engines such as Professor Onyx, Ral, Storm Conduit, or Deekah, Fractal Theorist, which rapidly drain the table or generate an insurmountable board of evasive Fractal tokens. While vulnerable to early creature removal and board sweepers, the deck features explosive card draw and resilient backup spell-copying engines to close games decisively.
