Deck overview

This deck executes a self-mill Voltron strategy spearheaded by Squall, SeeD Mercenary. The early game focuses on filling the graveyard using efficient mill artifacts like Mesmeric Orb, Perpetual Timepiece, and Codex Shredder while accelerating mana with rocks and rituals. Squall enters play ahead of curve and attacks alone to trigger Rough Divide, granting him double strike. When he connects for combat damage, Squall triggers twice to reanimate low-cost permanents directly to the battlefield without paying mana costs. The primary win condition leverages this reanimation to cheat out powerful equipment like Caduceus, Staff of Hermes, Whispersilk Cloak, and Brotherhood Regalia, transforming Squall into an unblockable, indestructible threat that eliminates opponents sequentially through lethal commander damage. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, its single-target combat clock gives the table multiple turns to respond.
