Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages low-cost, evasive creatures to weaponize Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor as an early-game card draw engine. By attacking under opposing defenses on Turn 3, the deck steadily refills its hand with cheap interaction, dark rituals, and powerful payoffs. Once a critical mass of cards and mana is established, the deck transitions into explosive single-turn finishes using Peer into the Abyss, Psychosis Crawler, or Skirge Familiar. High-tier disruptive creatures such as Opposition Agent and Dauthi Voidwalker slow down opponents while Gix maintains card velocity. The deck balances aggressive life expenditure for immense card selection, aiming to assemble a decisive storm or burn finish by Turn 5 while relying on efficient free removal to survive counterattacks.
