Deck overview

This is a Bant counter-synergy combat deck led by Tidus, Yuna's Guardian. The main plan is to place counters on several creatures, use Tidus, Yuna's Guardian to move them where they matter, and turn combat damage into cards and proliferate. Sphere Grid, Hardened Scales, Loading Zone, and Inexorable Tide increase counter production, while Chocobo Knights, Wakka, Devoted Guardian, Duskshell Crawler, and Emil, Vastlands Roamer convert that growth into combat pressure. Simic Ascendancy is a secondary victory route, not a reliable primary clock. The deck has respectable removal and protection, but its key pieces are mostly singletons, its mana base has substantial tapped-land friction, and its combat finish needs several turns. It can create a strong turn-7 board in an uninterrupted game, but it lacks the access, speed, and deterministic finish required for competitive Commander.
