Deck overview

This deck is a Jund Lands and +1/+1 Counters midrange deck led by Szarel, Genesis Shepherd. The core game plan focuses on rapid early mana acceleration using low-cost mana rocks, dorks, and additional-land-drop enablers like Exploration, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. Once Szarel, Genesis Shepherd is deployed on Turn 4, the graveyard functions as a second hand for land drops. By sacrificing fetchlands such as Verdant Catacombs and Bloodstained Mire, the deck triggers Szarel to distribute +1/+1 counters while generating extra mana. On Turn 5, explosive threats like Avenger of Zendikar, Scute Swarm, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, or Reshape the Earth overwhelm the board with tokens and power buffs. The deck converts this advantage into a lethal alpha strike across all three opponents on Turn 6. While vulnerable to sweepers and lacking instant-speed answers, its enormous mana base ensures rapid rebuilding.
