Deck overview

This deck executes a Rakdos Group Slug strategy built around Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost, continuous punishment permanents such as Razorkin Needlehead, Zo-Zu the Punisher, Blood Seeker, and Mogis, God of Slaughter that deal incremental damage to opponents during their own turns. When Valgavoth enters on turn 4, these off-turn damage triggers draw up to three additional cards per turn cycle and rapidly increase Valgavoth's power and toughness. The deck leverages this massive influx of card advantage to deploy overwhelming damage multipliers and game-ending threats like Archfiend of Despair, Fiery Emancipation, Massacre Wurm, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While the deck features minimal stack interaction and dedicated protection, its dense functional redundancy, lifegain denial, and scalable aerial beatdown systematically drain the entire table.
