Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet control and big-mana strategy built around Itazura, Lingering Wick. It turns the commander's upkeep ability into a high-stakes minigame where opponents must bid life totals to cast exiled spells. Using topdeck manipulation tools like Scroll Rack, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, and Soothsaying, the deck stacks the top of the library with devastating Eldrazi titans such as Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, and It That Betrays. When opponents bid high life to cast these threats, you take advantage of their life loss and immediately steal the permanents back using Brand or Coveted Falcon. Additional upkeeps from Paradox Haze and The Ninth Doctor accelerate card flow and damage output. Defensive enchantments like Propaganda and Dissipation Field stall enemy attacks while you amass mana to hardcast remaining titans. The game concludes with overwhelming combat damage and annihilator triggers that destroy opposing boards.
