Commander: Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald leads a Gruul exile-cast deck that turns impulse draw into a Wolf army. The primary plan is to cast spells from exile and play lands from exile to create 2/2 Wolves, then finish with Beastmaster Ascension, Craterhoof Behemoth, or Enduring Courage. Secondary paths use big value spells like Etali, Plargg and Nassari, and Improvisation Capstone to chain free spells, plus Purphoros, Terror of the Peaks, and Valakut Exploration as a burn backup. Faldorn is the engine and token generator; the deck is moderately dependent on her, but multiple independent impulse engines keep it functional if she is removed. There is no hidden commander; Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty is the closest secondary engine.
