Format: Commander

Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Derevi, Empyrial Tactician leads a stax and creature combo strategy that controls game tempo through restrictive permanents and untap acceleration. The deck establishes early symmetry-breaking stax pieces like Archon of Emeria and Rule of Law while deploying combat card-draw engines such as Edric, Spymaster of Trest and Bident of Thassa to maintain card advantage. Derevi bypasses commander tax with an activated ability, enabling persistent battlefield presence and mana advantage by untapping multi-mana permanents. The primary win condition loops Derevi with Emiel the Blessed and high-mana permanents like Chromatic Orrery or Scorched Ruins to generate infinite mana and lock down all opposing boards.
