Deck overview

This Golgari Squirrel-tribal token deck is helmed by Hazel of the Rootbloom, whose end-step trigger doubles your best token each turn and whose tap ability converts your token army into a mana battery. The primary plan is to establish a token engine (Squirrel Nest, Chatter of the Squirrel, Saproling Migration, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl), let Hazel's doubling snowball the board exponentially, then cash in with massive pump spells (Overrun, Preposterous Proportions) or X-spell finishers (Gelatinous Genesis, For the Common Good, Full Flowering). Chatterfang, Squirrel General doubles every token created and offers sacrifice-based removal, while Esika's Chariot, Mirrormind Crown, and City of Death provide additional token-copying. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage rather than combos, with Tribute to the World Tree and Idol of Oblivion supplying card advantage.
