Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Izzet combo-control deck commanded by The Locust God. Its core strategy revolves around ramping in the early turns, establishing explosive card-draw engines, and closing the game with compact infinite loops. The primary win condition combines The Locust God with Sage of the Falls, generating infinite non-Human token entry triggers and card draws to produce an army of flying, hasty Insects that attack for lethal on the same turn. The deck also features a strong backup package with Niv-Mizzet, Parun paired with Curiosity or Ophidian Eye, alongside massive burn payoffs like Purphoros, God of the Forge and Impact Tremors. A dense suite of efficient counterspells and wheel effects ensures hand disruption, smooth card selection, and reliable protection during combo turns.
