pirates izzet? by Profferor

Format: Commander

Commander: Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Izzet partners deck pairs Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator with Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar to forge a spellslinger strategy that fuels explosive treasure-generation turns. The primary game plan is to cast a high density of instants and sorceries, triggering token-makers (Young Pyromancer, Talrand, Sky Summoner, The Locust God) and treasure producers (Storm-Kiln Artist, Big Score). Malcolm's combat trigger turns pirate damage into Treasures, while Kediss spreads commander damage to each opponent, multiplying the treasure output. From a massive mana base of Treasures and rituals (Seething Song, Mana Geyser), the deck can deploy finishers like Niv-Mizzet, Parun + Curiosity (or Tandem Lookout) for an infinite damage loop, or overwhelm the board with Insurrection, Blatant Thievery, or a stormed Crackle with Power. The deck is a high-variance, value-driven machine that can explode into a winning turn once it assembles the right pieces.
