Deck overview

Lathril, Blade of the Elves leads a Golgari Elf tribal strategy built around combat damage triggers, wide token generation, and synergistic +1/+1 counter growth. The primary objective is deploying low-cost mana dorks and utility Elves early, establishing Lathril on curve, and leveraging her menace evasion alongside pump spells to generate a swelling army of 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens. Once the Elf count reaches ten or more, the deck pivots to draining all opponents simultaneously for ten life per activation while threatening lethal combat swings backed by overrun effects like Overrun and +1/+1 counters from Ozolith, the Shattered Spire and Training Regimen. The deck features an extensive suite of single-target creature interaction through black removal and green fight effects. However, it lacks mass protection and fast infinite combos, relying instead on incremental board growth, resilient recursion spells, and direct life-loss payoffs like Exsanguinate and Rise of the Dark Realms to close out games across multiple turns.
