Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos treasure-dragon deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable aims to generate an overwhelming number of Treasure tokens through a combination of combat triggers, sacrifice outlets, and - most critically - Smaug's own ability to create Treasures whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The commander's indestructibility and haste make it a resilient beater that can immediately attack, but the real engine lies in pairing it with repeatable damage sources like Pyrohemia or Pestilence to churn out Treasures each turn. These Treasures then fuel explosive mana, tutor effects via Magda, Brazen Outlaw, and alt-win conditions such as Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, and Knuckles the Echidna. The deck also leverages dragon synergies, damage doublers like Fiery Emancipation, and a suite of rituals to accelerate its game plan. It is a high-synergy, combo-oriented build that can pivot between combat damage and token-based victory.
