Deck overview

Hermes, Overseer of Elpis headlines a high-velocity Mono-Blue Spellslinger Combo-Control deck designed to pivot seamlessly from reactive disruption into deterministic, infinite win conditions. The deck leverages efficient 1–2 CMC mana rocks and cantrips to deploy Hermes early, immediately turning every counterspell, bounce spell, and piece of card selection into a growing airborne army of 1/1 flying vigilance Bird tokens. Behind this defensive aerial screen and a formidable countermagic suite, the deck systematically tutors for its centerpiece infinite combo: Isochron Scepter imprinting Dramatic Reversal. Generating infinite colorless and colored mana alongside infinite noncreature casts, this engine produces an arbitrarily large flock of Birds, draws the library via Sensei's Divining Top, and rapidly translates into immediate lethal direct damage through Glaring Fleshraker or a complete board lockout via Hullbreaker Horror. Resilient backup lines through Valley Floodcaller and artifact bounce loops ensure inevitable, explosive finishes.
