Deck overview

This deck is a hybrid Spellslinger and Phoenix tribal deck commanded by Ashling, Flame Dancer. The primary game plan revolves around deploying Ashling on Turn 4 to convert every instant and sorcery into high-velocity card filtering through Magecraft rummaging. Ashling's unique static ability prevents unspent red mana from emptying between steps and phases, allowing the deck to bank mana from rituals such as Pyretic Ritual, Seething Song, and Jeska's Will, as well as her own four-mana refund on the third trigger each turn. This accumulated mana fuels decisive burn finishers like Crackle with Power and Jaya's Immolating Inferno, often tripled by Fiery Emancipation. As an alternate angle, an array of self-recurring Phoenixes synergizes with discard costs and provides evasive pressure under Shared Animosity. While vulnerable to targeted removal on Ashling, the deck features clever redirection spells to defend its explosive win turns.
