Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan toxic and proliferate midrange engine commanded by Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa. The game plan opens with aggressive toxic and infect creatures on Turns 1 through 3 to establish early poison counters on every opponent. Once the table is poisoned, the deck transitions into a controlling posture on Turn 4, deploying Ixhel to generate steady card advantage from opponents' libraries via the corrupted mechanic. During Turns 5 through 7, mass proliferation engines like Evolution Sage, Contaminant Grafter, and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider accelerate poison counts toward the lethal threshold of 10 without needing to deal 120 regular combat damage. A robust removal suite containing versatile spot exile and asymmetric sweepers such as Phyresis Outbreak protects life totals, while resilient backup beaters like Vishgraz, the Doomhive and Tyrranax Rex guarantee alternate paths to lethal poison even through heavy spot removal.
