Deck overview

This list is an optimized competitive Dimir combo deck engineered around the format-defining Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact package. Supported by format-ceiling fast mana artifacts (Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Mox Opal, Mana Vault, Sol Ring) and premier black rituals, the deck accelerates into game-winning positions as early as Turn 2 or 3. An elite suite of cheap, unconditional tutors provides unmatched consistency, while secondary win routes like Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal and Hullbreaker Horror loops offer layered redundancy. The deck controls the tempo of the table with powerful free countermagic (Force of Will, Force of Negation, Fierce Guardianship, Mental Misstep) and disruptive flash threats like Opposition Agent and Orcish Bowmasters. The Ancient One acts as a low-cost enabler for commander-free spells, graveyard stocking, card filtering, and a backup beatdown threat.
