Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats and Rat Tribal midrange build led by Teysa Karlov. Its primary game plan combines early Rat creature deployment with doubled aristocrat death triggers, life drain engines, and token swarms. The deck utilizes cards like Karumonix, the Rat King and Rat Colony to establish early board presence while assembling high-impact drain payoffs such as Mirkwood Bats and Falkenrath Noble. Once Teysa Karlov is on the battlefield, mass token engines like Tombstone Stairwell and Plague of Vermin rapidly deplete opposing life totals through doubled triggers. The list also includes the classic infinite combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond, as well as alternate finishers like Approach of the Second Sun. However, the deck is bottlenecked by a severe lack of mana ramp, carrying only two mana rocks in the 99, which forces high-cost spells to play strictly on curve. Sparse protection spells leave its multi-creature engines exposed to sweepers.
