Deck overview

This is a Golgari sacrifice/reanimation deck built around Meren of Clan Nel Toth, leveraging death triggers to accumulate experience counters and recur threats each turn. The core strategy revolves around sacrificing creatures for value-using outlets like Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, and Ashnod's Altar-to trigger drain effects from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. The deck also contains multiple infinite combos, primarily involving Gravecrawler with a Zombie (Carrion Feeder) and a sacrifice payoff (Altar of Dementia or Warren Soultrader), and Protean Hulk lines that assemble a winning board. Living Death serves as a mass reanimation finisher. Meren acts as a repeatable recursion engine, but the combo lines themselves do not require her, making the deck resilient to commander removal.
