Deck overview

This deck uses Choco, Seeker of Paradise to turn Bird attacks into land development and selective card access. Cheap Birds such as Silver Raven, Battlefield Raptor, Sazh's Chocobo, and Plumecreed Escort establish the early board, while landfall payoffs turn extra lands into power, tokens, and counters. Kastral, the Windcrested is the strongest alternate engine because combat damage can draw cards or put Birds from hand or graveyard onto the battlefield. The deck has respectable land searching through Sakura-Tribe Elder, Prishe's Wanderings, and Reach the Horizon, but much of its mana enters tapped and its interaction is limited. Its normal plan becomes threatening around turn 8, yet it lacks a compact finisher. The deck must win through several combat steps, so it remains exposed to creature removal, sweepers, blockers, and commander tax. It is a functional casual-to-mid-power engine deck rather than a competitive combo or lock deck.
