Kisama no kyoufu o mokugeki suru koto ni naru. by Daenerys_I_Stormborn

Format: Commander

Commander: Tergrid, God of Fright // Tergrid's Lantern

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a high-power Mono-Black attrition and combo deck helmed by Tergrid, God of Fright. The primary plan forces mass sacrifice and discard through edicts, Braids, Cabal Minion, Pox/Death Cloud, and Torment of Hailfire, letting Tergrid steal every nontoken permanent opponents lose. Parallel to the theft engine sits a dense suite of self-contained combos in the 99-Painter's Servant+Grindstone, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed+Triskelion, Chain of Smog+Professor Onyx-plus classic black engines (Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, Razaketh, the Foulblooded). Reanimation (Animate Dead, Necromancy, Buried Alive) and life-payment payoffs (K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Peer into the Abyss) give the deck multiple angles. Tergrid herself is a powerful value piece but is not required for the combo lines, making the deck function cleanly even when the commander is answered.
