Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Zombie tribal aristocrats build helmed by Ayara, First of Locthwain. The game plan combines wide token generation, tribal anthems, and life drain. Ayara serves as both an incremental damage engine and a card-draw outlet, converting recursive creatures like Gravecrawler into continuous card advantage. The deck pressures the board through powerful lords such as Death Baron, Cemetery Reaper, and Undead Warchief, which transform small tokens into lethal attackers with menace and deathtouch. In the late game, burst finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Josu Vess, Lich Knight, and Army of the Damned overwhelm opposing life totals. While the deck boasts strong resilience and card velocity, its reliance on sorcery-speed creature boards and thin ramp acceleration limits its explosive potential.
