Deck overview

This is an Elf-tribal graveyard-value deck commanded by Thranduil, the Elvenking. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard with utility Elves through self-mill effects (Buried Alive, Aftermath Analyst, Grisly Salvage) and then use Thranduil's activated-ability-granting ability to access mana dork, pump and removal abilities from creature cards that are no longer on the battlefield. A secondary theme is legendary Elves, fuelling Thranduil's own draw-two triggers. The deck wins through combat pressure - overrunning with Tyvar, the Pummeler, the Lathril, Blade of the Elves tap ability, or Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - or by overwhelming value from Marwyn, the Nurturer, Elvish Archdruid, etc. The combo potential is minimal; it relies on a single degenerate value line with Devoted Druid and Marvin, Murderous Mimic to generate infinite mana, then sink it into Ezuri, Claw of Progress or Tyvar pump.
