Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines an efficient reanimation engine with an aristocrats sacrifice package. Commanded by Liliana the Repentant, the deck leverages early self-mill, discard, and targeted tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive to place massive threats directly into the graveyard. On turn 4, low-cost reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Persist bring game-dominating creatures like Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Sheoldred, Whispering One onto the battlefield. These threats establish immediate board control through continuous sacrifice and discard triggers. The deck closes games around turn 7 using wide combat swings from Grave Titan, massive life drains from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms. While vulnerable to instant-speed graveyard hate and lacking enchantment removal, its high density of interchangeable reanimation spells ensures rapid recovery.
