Monarchesa by FaunoHG

Format: Commander

Commander: Queen Marchesa

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Mardu monarch/governance deck helmed by Queen Marchesa, built around seizing the crown early and converting the monarch's card advantage into a slow, grinding combat victory. The deck layers three overlapping engines: the monarch title (with Queen Marchesa's Assassin tokens as a deterrent), a heavy goad suite that redirects opponents' creatures into each other, and a dense package of Backgrounds that turn the commander into a scaling beater. Win conditions are incremental - commander damage pumped by Criminal Past and Tavern Brawler, token swarms from Veteran Soldier, and life-drain from Agent of the Iron Throne and Pious Evangel // Wayward Disciple. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through attrition, monarch card advantage, and political redirection.
